Negotiate Up Strategy: Staff Engineer is a leverage-rich position at HubSpot. You are rare, expensive to recruit, and hard to replace. Lead negotiations with your architectural vision for HubSpot's platform — specifically how you would unify the six-hub architecture and accelerate Breeze AI. Present a written technical vision document before comp discussions. Use the M&A angle aggressively at this level: with $290K-$465K in RSU at stake, double-trigger acceleration could mean $200K+ in protected equity. Get the side letter.
