Use competing offers from Salesforce, Datadog, or FAANG companies to push toward the top of the RSU band: "My competing offer includes $[amount] in RSU over 4 years. To make HubSpot's total comp competitive, I'd like the RSU component increased to $[target], reflecting both market rates and my expected contribution to Breeze AI and [specific Hub]."

Negotiate Up Strategy: At the Senior SWE level, your leverage is highest when you can demonstrate cross-hub value. Map your experience to at least two of HubSpot's six hubs (Marketing, Sales, Service, CMS, Operations, Commerce). Present a 90-day impact plan that shows immediate value. Use the M&A angle to push for equity protections — if Google or another acquirer moves on HubSpot, your double-trigger clause becomes the most valuable part of your package. Always get the full RSU agreement in writing before signing.
